Willmore Wilderness Horseback Adventures
Saddle Up!
What You Need to Bring:
- Fleece clothing: loose, comfortable fleece sweats
for relaxing and sleeping in.
- Layered clothing is best. You can be sunbathing
at noon and in a ski jacket at sundown!
- Boots with a heel for riding, a pair of runners
or hiking boots for exploring.
- Zip-loc bags are handy to store all personal items you with to keep dry.
- Lots of socks are great, the grass is often wet
in the morning.
- Your own personal wash kit, plus a towel or two.
- A warm sleeping bag and a foamy or air mattress
-- nights can be cool.
- Rain gear for riding in -- slickers or coats are
great, ponchos are not! (They blow too much in the
wind, and the horses don't like them.)
- A hat with a brim for sunshine or rain.
- Lots of film and your camera -- there are no stores
around the block in the wilderness!
- Flashlight, gloves.
- Personal beverages.
- Extra medication you may be taking (in case of a
delay).
What We Provide:
Our trips are run in the same traditional manner, that
local outfitters have been following for over a hundred
years. For those mountain air appetites, hearty home-cooked
meals will be prepared in our well-equipped kitchen tents
or over the open fire. Included is Alberta Steak, bacon
& eggs, and home-made soups & stews to name a few. Vegetarian
options are available. If you have any particular likes
or dislikes, please let us know and we'll make adjustments.
Good conversation, marshmallows, and a cup of hot coffee
can be enjoyed alongside the crackling fire.
Whenever you are ready you can retire to your comfortable
tent. Sleep is never better than in the purest of air,
with the only night sounds being the occasional hooting
of an owl, the howl of a coyote, or the jingling of the
horse bells. |
